As president of the JSG LLC, I’ve decided to run for school board of my son’s school district so that I can give back.
We have been so blessed to experience Lincoln Charter School. LCS is North Carolina’s largest and oldest non-virtual charter school. Charter schools matter as an option for families determined to escape failing schools. Our family witnessed this as we struggled with our local public school. The Jones family will always advocate for school choice and I will always advocate for students to have the opportunity to transform and flourish.
We love that LCS has a strong mission: to facilitate the development of college-ready individuals through emphasis on rigorous academics and our community expectations: honesty, respect, empathy, responsibility, service and preparedness.
As a mom, PTO volunteer, foster parent and former substitute teacher on both campuses, I’ve had a unique perspective to see the workings of the school. As the school district continues to grow with the addition of a 3rd campus dedicated to sports and the arts, I want to make sure the school maintains its excellence. I want to bring my communication talents, strategic planning and charitable solicitation experience to ensuring a stronger and better Lincoln Charter School system.
